  3. <hi style=afpcap>In 1913 the Glenn L. Martin Company delivered the first model TT trainer to the Army. The aircraft was a biplane with an enclosed fuselage and open cockpits with duel controls. The model TT conducted secret aerial bombardment experiments at San Diego shortly after being delivered. The Army did not possess an air arm so the Ordnance Department was charged with sending observers to San Diego to evaluate the results. </hi>
